Isaac is our BIG 1st Grader!

Isaac started school this week, and is now in 1st Grade. He has mixed feelings about the whole thing, as it is sad to see the summer end. He became quite fond of his freedom....and the Nintendo 64 Uncle Daniel gave him. He is sad to leave it all behind in the quest for further knowledge at school. He has told me what he DOES like and what he DOESN'T like.
Isaac Likes: Recess 3x's a day, his nice teacher Mrs. Mackay, lunch, that he has his "own desk" with his name on it, and friends.
Isaac doesn't like: Mosquitoes out on the playground, that school is longer than 1 hour, that now he "has to LEARN stuff".
I think he will acclimate, and as the teacher really gets into the curriculum he will become interested and excited about things. For a boy who is constantly asking me SO MANY QUESTIONS day in and day out (examples; How do airplanes get gas if they can't go to the gas station? Why does Daddy mow the grass and then it just gets tall again?, Why do I have blood under my skin?) you would think that he would be ecstatic about the fact that he gets to go to school and be TAUGHT so many new things. I'm sure as things move along, he will enjoy it more and more.

Isaac loves his Speed Racer backpack.

And of course Leah wanted to be in the picture when we dropped him off at school. This is what Leah looks like on a BAD HAIR morning before Mommy can remedy the situation. As much as she will argue with me on it, she just has to accept that she has to be 4 before she can start Pre-K. So another year at home with Mommy is what she gets!

Leah goes to the Dentist!

Leah's first trip to the dentist! Clean bill of health (what Mommy hears is "This won't cost you a dime!") We are thrilled!
Leah loved it all, except for the bright light above her head shining in her eyes. Leah HATES light shining directly in her eyes. Frequently while driving she will ask me to turn off the Sun. Well hon...that won't happen.
But ANYWAY! Yes, she was SO excited at the Dentist. Sister Thiel from church happened to be the hygenist who cleaned her teeth, and Dr. Nabors (also from church) did her checkup!

Welcome Home Elder Hubler!

Michael's baby brother Jake returned home honorably from his mission earlier this month. He served in the Ogden Utah Mission. Isaac was very excited to see him, and Leah (who was only 13 mos when he left) was cordial, but referred to him as "that man in the tie". Jake only has a few moments to catch his breath before returning to the great North-west, to begin his Sophomore year at BYU-I. Jake is happy and healthy....and a bit more "filled out" shall we say. Mikey is glad b/c Jake always has made fun of him being "chubbs" and now Mikey can throw it right back at him!

I NOT HAS A PMS.....

I IS A PREGNANT! BIG DIFFERENCE.

So I have to give a shout out to my husband. He never knows what his sweet delicate flower of a wife will be up to when he returns from work. She is either happy with dinner ready and kids entertained....or crying in the neither-regions of the house because balancing the checkbook today took too much of an emotional toll on her fragile state. I have been what some would call "slightly hormonal" during this pregnancy. Or as others would call "borderline psycho". You do begin to question whether or not you will ever think clearly again, react rationally again, be able to handle your children's constant questioning again, serve competently in your church calling again....or ever again resemble a normal human being. My husband, although not understanding fully why I react the way I do, or why it IS justifiable to ME at the TIME, has gotten better at just hugging me and saying "I'm sorry, you know I can be a total idiot at times". Gentlemen, that is the safest road to take, if you don't want to end up feeling the wrath like this poor "king of the jungle" pictured above. I promise.
